Recently, three Lighthouse Associates — Kris Deichler, Jatinder Kamra and Sukh Singh — received a guilty verdict at Stratford Magistrates’ Court in the case brought by BBC journalist Catrin Nye, originally in September 2024. The trial had proceeded for over six months to its conclusion this week.
The charge, harassment without violence, centres on two visits to Ms Nye’s home. Kris, Jatinder and Sukh testified that they were acting peacefully, as citizen journalists and Christian men, seeking to appeal to conscience by presenting a letter and a Bible, whilst documenting their efforts to hold the BBC to account for what they asserted was harm caused by its A Very British Cult programme.
Because the men fully intend to appeal in the Crown Court, the case is still active. For that reason, Lighthouse has shared a high-level overview of what has happened so far, along with the public statement from the three defendants.
In this article you will find a summary of the trial, some of the legal arguments raised, and some of the context to the case which includes the ongoing response to the BBC’s A Very British Cult. You will also hear directly from Kris, Jatinder and Sukh as they express both their disappointment with the verdict and their gratitude for the ongoing prayers and support from the Lighthouse community.
We look ahead to the appeal and await further details to develop. We encourage members of the Lighthouse community and friends of our work to read the article above, stay informed, and continue to uphold everyone involved - the judge, the prosecution, the claimant and the defendants - all in prayer.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” - John 13:35

Looking forward to the appeal. My husband is a good man who loves God and doesn’t have a vengeful bone in his body. I’m grateful for all the support we’ve received so far and will keep praying for a truly just outcome in this case for him and our friends
Thank you for this coverage of the court case. I pray that our brothers Kris, Jatinder, and Sukh will receive a fair and just appeal hearing.
it just shows the system of justice is unjust wearing an overcoat that looks like justice. Justice will have it’s day. Looking forward to the appeal. 🫡
Thank you for updating us on the verdict, although disappointed with the verdict, I will be continuing my support and will continue to pray for our three brothers in Christ
Thank you for your support and I look forward to the appeal 🙏
