Preparing To Launch The Sum of All Problems
The past week represented a crucial period in establishing the theological groundwork for Paul S. Waugh's forthcoming landmark work, The Sum of All Problems. Throughout these seven days, Paul systematically unveiled three fundamental theological problems that lie at the heart of humanity's separation from God: 1) diabolical pride, 2) sin as false remedy, and 3) self-disconnection that blocks divine relationship.
Alongside this intellectual foundation-building, Paul advanced accountability efforts through a direct challenge to the BBC leadership via an open letter, demanding institutional reform and transparency.
From a faith perspective, this week illustrated how genuine spiritual transformation demands first understanding the architecture of our brokenness; we cannot return to God without comprehending what drove us away. From a humanist standpoint, it demonstrated strategic intellectual development—building comprehensive diagnostic frameworks before prescribing solutions—whilst simultaneously maintaining pressure on corrupt institutions through targeted advocacy.
Week's Daily Updates
Sunday, Nov 30: Building Toward The Sum of All Problems | Article: The Disease of Sin: When Missing the Mark Becomes a Medicine | The Sum of All Problems
Paul S. Waugh unveiled Problem Two in his theological framework: humanity's misguided attempts to self-medicate the anguish of divine separation through sinful behaviour. From a Christian lens, this exposes how our instinctive self-healing efforts compound our spiritual bondage rather than alleviating it; from a psychological perspective, it illuminates the pattern of destructive coping mechanisms that worsen rather than address underlying dysfunction.
Monday, Dec 1: Beyond "Forever Chemicals": The Crisis the BBC Won't Face | Daily Prayer | Article: Why Catrin Nye and the BBC Miss the Real Crisis | Referenced: The Disease of Sin
Paul confronted BBC journalist Catrin Nye's environmental toxin coverage, contending that it overlooks the deeper spiritual pathology beneath all human malfunction. From a Christian viewpoint, this highlights how secular problem-solving addresses symptoms whilst ignoring the root disease of separation from God; from a rationalist angle, it critiques journalism that tackles material consequences without examining the behavioural and systemic patterns producing them.
Tuesday, Dec 2: Diabolical Pride and the Problem of Separateness By Paul S. Waugh | Daily Prayer | Read the full article: Diabolical Pride and the Problem of Separateness
Paul presented Problem One in his theological architecture, exploring how pride generates the foundational breach between humanity and our Creator. From a faith perspective, this identifies pride as the primordial sin fracturing our divine relationship; from a secular framework, it analyses how ego-centred autonomy produces the existential alienation underlying all human suffering.
Wednesday, Dec 3: Truth to Power: The BBC, Our Children, and the Kingdom We Serve | Daily Prayer | Open Letter to BBC Board & Executive Committee | Article: The Kingdom of Darkness: How We Teach Our Children to Worship Man Instead of God
Paul published a forthright open letter to BBC executives and board members demanding accountability and truth-telling, connecting institutional malfeasance to wider patterns of conditioning children to revere human authority above divine truth. From a Christian standpoint, this challenges the BBC as exemplifying worldly systems that obscure God's truth; from a humanist perspective, it exposes how major institutions cultivate unquestioning deference to manufactured authority rather than independent critical thinking.
Thursday, Dec 4: Returning to the One True God | Daily Prayer | Article: Problem 3: Low Connection With The Self
Paul revealed Problem Three: humanity's self-alienation that obstructs authentic God-awareness and relationship. From a Christian perspective, this demonstrates how losing connection with our true God-created nature prevents us from hearing His voice; from a psychological standpoint, it examines how self-disconnection undermines the consciousness and self-knowledge essential for genuine transformation.
Friday, Dec 5: Why The Sum of All Problems Matters Now | Daily Prayer | Problem 1: Diabolical Pride & the Problem of Separateness | Problem 2: The Disease of Sin | Problem 3: Low Connection with the Self | The Sum of All Problems
Paul synthesised all three problems in a comprehensive exposition of why this framework matters for addressing contemporary human crises. From a Christian perspective, this integrates the theological architecture demonstrating how only returning to God can resolve the interconnected trinity of pride, sin, and self-alienation; from a secular perspective, it positions the framework as diagnostic methodology for understanding why superficial interventions consistently fail to address civilisational breakdown.
